This post doesn't really have anything to do with anything but I think it is kinda funny. My kids play a game called shotgun every time we go in my car. You probably have played the game before where someone calls "shotgun" and they get to sit in the front seat.

But did you know that there is a website called shotgunrules.com? You will have to go to the site to get the entire list of rules - because there are many - but here is a sample.

The Theory The term "Shotgun" refers to the front passenger seat of an automobile. "Calling Shotgun" is the act of claiming the position of Shotgun for one's self. As this position is the most coveted of all positions when riding in a car, the following list of rules has been created to ensure that Shotgun can be acquired in a fair and equitable manner by any passenger of an automobile. The History The history of calling "Shotgun" goes back to the days of covered wagons and the Wild West. On a trip across the plains, the driver of a wagon would hold the reins of his horse team and concentrate on driving. This left him and the occupants of his wagon susceptible to sneak attacks from bandits and thieves. To avoid this atrocious circumstance it became necessary for one person to sit next to the driver with a shotgun and fend off the enemy. Defending against bandits is no longer the priority of Shotgun however, but it has evolved into a pre-driving ritual that is experienced before almost every car ride across America and even the world. Because of the obvious evolution that has already occurred with Shotgun, we ask you to consider Shotgun as a living entity and be aware that it is always changing for the better good of society. The Rules The following rules have been created through many years of exploring the ritual of Shotgun and are designed with the idea of fairness to all as the main priority. They are also the most complete and comprehensive listing of Shotgun rules available today. You Must Say The Word "Shotgun" You must say the word "Shotgun" to stake your claim on Shotgun. This must be done clearly and loud enough so that at least one other to-be occupant of the vehicle can hear you. No variations of this word are acceptable. After you have rightfully called Shotgun, you have exclusive rights to Shotgun for that ride. However, if no one hears you call Shotgun it is still fair game for everyone.

Did you watch the season finale last night - wow!

That was the greatest season finale I have ever seen. It answered many questions but brought in twice as many.

1. The Walt/Michael story came to a conclusion with them sailing away
2. "Henry gale" is what seems the 'head' of the others.
3. The booklet tubes from the Pearl are not going to the Others
4. The Others do not live on the beach
5. Desmond is back (and dead)
6. The button actually stabilizes a serious electromagnetic force
7. Desmond crashed the plane because of not pressing the button to late
8. We learned more about Desmond and Calvin, who was also in Sayid's flashback
9. The Others appear to not live on the island
10. Clare and Charlie finally got back together
11. The Others made it look like they are "hillbillies"
12. Desmond got his boat from Libby
13. There are around a dozen apparent Others

First of all I would like to offer my apologies to the 2 or 3 people who actually read my blog because I have not posted in several days. I'm back!

You may or may not know this but have you ever noticed that there is a special wave that motorcycle guys have. It is like a bond and it is even more evident with Harley riders. Well, I have a scooter and I have started to notice that most if not all motorcycle guys will not wave at scooters. Now I need to add that I have a pretty beefy scooter (if there is such a thing). I just don't seem to fit into their culture - or so they think. And this has to be solely based upon appearance of my scooter for sure and maybe me as well.

They other day a guy waved at me before he realized that I was on a scooter. I almost fell off my scooter I was laughing so hard.

Do we ever do that in real life. Judge someone because of something external and make the assumption that we don't like them or they would not fit in based upon that external factor. I think we need to learn to look at the heart.

Watch out for those that seem to not fit in and think of this scooter story. How can you get to know someone and see their heart?

Yes, I have a scooter and I am proud of it! Most people who see me daily kind of make fun of me and my scooter but I think it is because they are jealous.

I have a Piaggio BV200.

It is a lot of fun to ride and have you seen gas prices lately. I had to fill up yesterday and it cost me $6.

I have been thinking about writing a book called "Lessons From My Scooter." Some of the chapters would be called:
1. Scratch you nose before you put on your helmet
2. The small bumps can cause big wrecks
3. Don't sneeze inside your helmet

I just got back from spending a week visiting family in Texas for a week. I had a great time visiting family and friends that I had not seen in a long time. One of the things I discovered is how everything changes and yet everything is the same. I know that sounds strange but it seems to be very true.

When I walked into the house I grew up in everything seemed very familiar but everything was different at the same time. Things in different places - new and different things and yet there was something very comforting and familiar about being there. The same was true with seeing people that I had not seen in a long time. They looked different but still the same. There was something very familiar and comfortable about being around them.

The same thing is true as we journey with God. We grow and we change and yet God is still there - our relationship with Him changes and grows but He stays the same.

Everything changes but God stays the same.

Clean Car

I am getting my car cleaned today and I am very excited. You could have the worst car in the world but if it is clean and the wheels and tires are shiny it makes you feel like you have a brand new car. It just seems like a clean car runs better and faster. Yes, I must admit I am a car freak without any cool or fancy cars. You can check out this link to see my dream car:

Camaro Concept

It is the new concept for the 2009 camaro and I would love to have one of these.

I guess I will have to have a rich uncle leave me a lot of money if I am ever going to get one. That's okay we can all dream, and if we are going to dream we might as well dream big.

There is just something special about combining the best of the old with the new.

Okay, enough dreaming because I have to come back to reality. I will love my current car once again when it is clean and shiny. The only problem will be that it does not have the new car smell that we all love. Until you and I get our dream cars I guess we will just have to "love the one you're with."
