Are You a Weight Lifter?

I read this today and thought it was a great illustration. It comes from Michael Lukaszewski.

I think there are two kinds of people in the world:  weight lifters and weight adders.

Weight lifters are the kind of people that you want to see.  You love taking their phone calls because you actually enjoy talking to them.  Their presence isn’t an interruption.  They pray for you, encourage you, and most of all…they listen to you.

 

Weight adders make life more complicated.  When their name pops up on your phone screen, you internally sigh.  They complain, they question, and they get you sideways.  They add emotional weight to your life.

 

I want to be a weight lifter for my friends.
