Sorry there was no post for yesterday - I was feeling a little under the weather. You should note that I am never to sick to watch the Dukies beat up on State. Okay, maybe they didn't beat up on them but it still counts as a win. I was a little worried at halftime but I knew after Coach K gave a nice little speech (more like yelling until his eyeballs popped out) that everything would be okay.
Here is what the Duke Basketball report has to say:
The final score was 81-68, but if this was an 13 point win then the South won the war. State gave Duke all it wanted. The difference was that Duke knew what to do in the closing minutes and State hasn't completely figured it out yet. We said the other day that they were good enough to win the national championship, and nothing we saw Wednesday convinced us otherwise. That's a heck of a team they have in Raleigh.
JJ had 28 points and went 10/10 at the line which was great considering that he missed four against the tigers. Sheldon had 21 points and 9 boards just missing another double double.
Can Duke make it through the regular season undefeated? Sure. Do I think the will? No. They will most likely get tripped up along the way and it might even be by the most unlikely source.
