innovate update

One hour left in Innovate and my butt is tired but my spirit is inspired. (I am sure that is funnier in my head than when you read it.) I do feel very encouraged today and hearing Troy Gramling and Scott Hodge this afternoon was great.

Two key takeaways for today would be: We are all innovative and who God made you to be is waiting to come out. You are where you are at this moment for a reason. The second thing is to LISTEN TO GOD and then do everything you can to courageously DO WHAT HE SAYS.

Mark Beeson is currently on stage talking about making sure you feet are going in the right direction. Here is a quote that he just said: "You can't get what you could have until you let go of what you do have."

I will post a summary of the conference on Monday.

innovate day two

It is early morning on day two - I am not a morning person. This morning session is with Rob Wegner and he is talking about communicating ideas that stick. Finding that one idea and finding a way to make it something that can be remembered. If we are communicating the greatest message ever doesn't it deserve the best presentation ever.

innovate update

The last session for today was with Tim Stevens and he gave some insight into the service planning at Granger and what that looks like. He also showed several videos that they had used.

Here is one of the videos that they showed and I thought it was super creative. Forwards it reads one way but backwards the message is completely different. We can turn the world upside down with the message of Truth and the love of God.

Here are a couple more pictures. The first speaker of the day was Guy Kawasaki and I loved him because he used to work for Apple and is a huge Mac fan. More than that though he had some great insight about changing the world. If Nike wants to change the world because of shoes then how much more should the church desire to change the world - isn't are cause much greater than shoes?

It is way toooo early but we are here at Granger for the Innovate Conference. As you can tell from the pictures that it didn't take long for us to mess with stuff. Leave it to Doug.

Kem Meyer

I am sitting in a great workshop on church websites. Kem Meyer is leading the workshop and I am in a room with a bunch of really smart people and I don't have a clue half the time and the other half I am sitting in amazement.

I really do want to be a church that uses technology in great way. I am always learning and finding out how we can be the best we can possibly be as we speak the language of today's culture.

Several people from the staff and leadership team here at LifePoint are going to the Innovate Conference at Granger Community Church. Kyle and I leave today and everyone else will join us on Wednesday night. It will be a great time for us to learn, grow, and be stretched and we will get a chance to hang out and dream a little about the future of LifePoint.

I am not sure how much time I will have to post but I will try to give you some conference updates if I get a chance.

baby shark song

We sang the baby shark song yesterday at LifePoint just so we could say we did. No video yet but here are some pictures. If you will will notice we added a little twist. I bet you have never heard the baby shark song with an accordion. We had a great time!

let there be light

Last night some good friends came over and gave us an awesome gift. Not only did they give us some way cool lights they hooked them up for us!

The pictures don't really do it justice because these lights are amazing.

Do something nice for someone today and as you do it let the light of Christ shine through your life. You can make a difference in someone's world today.
